Amabile Choir Concert with Cantamus in Mansfield

We set off from Kendal for the journey to Queen Elizabeth School, Mansfield by coach. The journey passed reasonably quickly as we had DVDs to entertain us.

We had our own rehearsal time first before the girls from Cantamus arrived. We then sat to listen to them rehearse and they were fabulous - true to their award of "Choir of the World"!! We then had a practice together which was amazing and we all felt inspired.

The girls from Cantamus were very welcoming and friendly. A tea was provided of jacket potatoes, and apple pie for pudding, and then it was time to change for the concert.

The concert was wonderful and it was so exciting to sing alongside such a professional choir. Both choirs performed songs from their own repertoires, but we also sang "Hymn to Freedom" and "The Rose" together.

We had to leave to come home on Sunday morning as Cantamus were going on a Choir Tour of Spain in the early hours of Monday morning.

It was a short, but wonderful trip and has given us all valuable experience.
