Welcome to the home of Amabile Choirs
Sempre Amabile
Sempre Amabile was a happy accident, born from an Amabile Alumni get together in December 2018. It had its first formal rehearsal in January and by March 2019 had won both classes it entered at Carlisle Music Festival.
The choir just managed to enjoy Manchester Amateur Choral Competition and again Carlisle Festival before the pandemic 2020.
During the pandemic we continued online, supporting one another through the challenges that time presented. One of the lovely things we did was record two beautiful songs which you can see on our page.
Since it’s inception Sempre Amabile has enjoyed participating in Amabile Choir’s seasonal concerts as well as fundraising concerts.
Last March, Sempre was placed 3rd in the Female Voice category at the North Wales Choral Festival in LLandudno. It was wonderful to have a weekend away together establishing and growing friendships. There are more concerts, competitions and a tour for 2024 in the pipeline.
Musically, Sempre enjoys a varied repertoire from early to modern music and we do enjoy a challenge. We have recently studied musical theatre technique with Emma Trow. We love expressing emotion through words, and beautiful music. Most of all, we love singing together, being together and having fun creating a beautiful choral sound.
We welcome new members. If you are interested in joining us, please get in contact. We will invite you to one of our monthly rehearsals to meet us and sing with us and we can take it from there.
We meet once a month on a Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm at St. Thomas’ Church, Crosscrake, Kendal.
Please contact Sempre Amabile’s Musical Director, Charlotte Jackson if you'd like to join.
